Great speaker for the price!
This is a wonderful speaker that really fills up a room with sound. It has some annoying features but if you check their website, you can download some files and flash the device's firmware to turn those features off (such as auto power-off and the tones it makes when powering on/off). I wish there were an easier way of modifying those features, and perhaps of changing the auto power-off timeout (instead of just having it either on or off) but for the price and performance, I have yet to find a better speaker. ... Waited a little bit to write a review I've had it for a couple months now and so far I've had no problems with it. Great sound quality easy to connect and has a nice touch control. Plays for hours at a time without having to connect to power source to recharge. Would recommend! ... Read more...
I love this speaker. It has great sound and holds a charge for quite some time. The buttons on the top are a little confusing at first. The up and down buttons which I thought were for volume control are actually to change tracks if you are playing music. To adjust the volume, you run your figure on the circle shaped button in the center (clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease volume). ... Read more...

I had previously bought another brand a couple of weeks before and was ready to purchase it again, but when I attempted to reoder I was informed that it was not available and they didn't kno when it would be. Lucky for me as I seached for another one for my son I came across this one and just ordered it. When it arrived I was so impressed with the quality of sound and the quickness of pairing, but most of all the hours of playing time. Well this time I didn't wait as I immediately reordered a second one for myself. It's a nice box; just what you could get for the price. I find it very annoying that I charge it overnight and just after a couple of hours of use it turns itself off. I lost the window for returning it; I'll be a wiser shopper for these gadgets next time. Fow now, it works; all I have to do is keep it plugged to the AC outlet. The quality of sound is OK and this would help me endure the fact that I won't be able to take it to places where I can't use an AC outlet. ... Read more...
Great sound in portable package.
Works fine with my iPhone and sounds great, but don't expect to blow the roof off. Perfect for how I use it, but might not be loud enough for some in a room with several people talking, i.e., party. I'm getting about 4-6 hours on a charge. ... Read more...
For the purpose I intended this product rates five stars. I got it to run a line in from an Echo Dot as the dot doesn't have great sound quality. This unit sound great for a bedside media player at night and both units together come in at a lower price than an Echo and sounds much better. I am very happy with this Doss Boom box. ... Nice concept ruined by bad firmware.
Well, the hunt continues for a modestly priced bluetooth speaker. This speaker is nice but suffers from a couple of quirks that I just can't live with. I wanted to like this but it just doesn't work the way it should.1. The firmware upgrade that is supposed to get rid of the "voice" did not work.2. The voice is LOUD all the time. It does not respond to volume control.3. Please, please have someone that speaks English fluently check the announcements. "Bluetooth mode has be on" and "Now is TF mode" for example. Come on, please.4. The volume control has gradual volume levels until you get to very quiet and then the volume shuts off. You can play it quiet but not real quiet.5. During playing of a mircro SD card the speaker will randomly revert to Bluetooth pairing mode, and of course widely and loudly announce "Bluetooth mode has be on". It was funny the fist couple of times. Then not so much.The form factor is nice. Slimmer than the boxy rectangle speakers. All depends on your taste. Touch controls work well and the volume control circle is a nice touch. Oh, and of course I should mention sound quality. It has a nice balanced sound, not too much bass or treble. Does very well for such small speakers.It's made in China which is not necessarily bad but as mentioned above, get the English right if you are selling it in English speaking countries.That's very annoying for something so simple to fix. I wish I had access to the programming so I could fix all the bad little things that this does. It's not that hard to program some logic in this people.All in all a very nice concept poorly executed, ruined by the firmware.On to the next bluetooth speaker.I just revised my rating to a 4 star. Heard from DOSS and they made a mistake and sent me the wrong firmware upgrade so it naturally would not work. The company does seem to care and try to help. That alone is worth a lot. ...
