GNOME MultiWriter
A smart Linux utility that lets users to write ISO files to more than 20 USB flash drives simultaneously
GNOME MultiWriter is an open source graphical software project that is distributed for free and designed for the GNOME desktop environment to help users write an ISO image to multiple USB thumb drives at once, in batch mode.
The application can be used to create hundreds of bootable LiveUSB thumb drives of a GNU/Linux operating system (e.g. Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, etc.) for a small number of users or for a code sprint.
Supports up to 20 USB flash drives
The program’s graphical user interface is extremely simple and minimal. To start writing an ISO image to multiple USB devices (up to 20 USB sticks are supported), click the small circle button on the left side of the window and import the ISO file.
Insert the USB devices on the USB ports of your computer, choose the USB thumb drives on which you want to write the ISO image, and start the copying process by pressing the “Start Copying” button.
Getting started with GNOME MultiWriter
At the moment, the application is in active development and has no release. To install it on your GNU/Linux distribution, you must download the latest source package from the project’s GitHub page or via Softpedia, save the archive somewhere on your computer and extract its contents using any archive manager utility.
Open a terminal emulator tool, go to the location of the extracted archive files (e.g cd /home/softpedia/gnome-multi-writer-master), run the ‘./autogen.sh’ command to configure the program and optimize it for your system. Then, run the ‘make’ command to compile it, followed by either of the ‘make install’or 'sudo make install' commands, depending if you're root or a user with root privileges, to install it.
Designed for GNOME
Initially designed as part of the ColorHug project, the GNOME MultiWriter software is an independent and standalone utility for GNU/Linux operating systems that use the GNOME desktop environment (other open source desktops are also supported).
