The story of Aanandam revolves around seven college friends, Gautham, Kuppi, Diya, Devika, Akshay, Darshan, and Varun. They are all part of the final year. What happens when these guys go on an Industrial Trip and later have a New Year party in Goa is the basic plot of the movie.

In the journey, the various equations and feelings of different couples are explored. The key among them is the love story of Divya and Akshay. Everyone wants Divya to be their lover, but she is openly reluctant to taking a relationship beyond friendship. She also has a part that is hidden from everyone. Akshay, meanwhile, has many fears, and one of them happens to be a proposal to Divya. The narrative deals with this primary arc, and others overcoming their fears.

Ganesh Raj provides the screenplay and directs the movie. Roshan Matthew, Thomas Matthew, Siddhi Mahajankatti, Annu Antony, Vishak Nair, Anarkali Marikar and Arun Kurian play the parts of the seven friends. Navin Pauly and Renji Panicker appear in cameos.
