Download drivers to a flash drive
Hello Scout,
Welcome to the HP Community Forums! I understand that you are looking to download the HP Deskjet 5550 drivers for Windows XP using a computer that has internet access so that you can copy them to a USB drive so that they can then be installed on a Windows XP computer that doesn't have internet access. Listed below are direct links to the HP DeskJet 5550 drivers for Windows XP.
(Recommended) HP DeskJet 5550 Color Inkjet series Full Feature Software and Driver Ver. 5.5.2.0 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software1/COL1258/dj-7095-2/5550-enu-win2k_xp.exe
If you prefer to go directly to the HP DeskJet 5550 Support site and download the software from the HP Support site (i.e. instead of using the link above), here are the basic steps:
1. Open a browser (i.e. Chrome, FireFox, IE, etc.) and go to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Deskjet-5500-Printer-series/71895/model/71897
2. If the computer you're using isn't running Windows XP, near the top center of the page, click the text titled "Choose a different OS" to manually select Windows XP.
3. Expand the Driver-Product Installation section (click the "+" sign) to see the available software
4. Click the download that you want (Full Feauture software is recommended) to start the download process.
5. Once the file is downloaded (depending on the browser, look in downloads, etc.), copy the file to the USB drive.
6. Move the USB drive to to the Windows XP PC and copy the file to its hard drive (...it runs faster from the computer's hard drive).
7. Run the file on the Windows XP computer to install the HP HP DeskJet 5550 driver software! Printing should now work! 🙂
I hope this help and provide the basic information that you are looking for based on your initial posting.
Regards,
Fishing_CAT
